ABOUT THE TOOL

Online random number generator

Generate one or more random integers from a selected range.

When it helps

  • Random participant number
  • Selecting a table row
  • Test data

How to get a result

  1. Set the range.
  2. Choose the count.
  3. Press Generate.

How to define a random number range correctly

Choose the smallest and largest allowed integers, not the number of possible outcomes. A range from 1 to 20 includes 1, 20, and every integer between them.

Check whether repeated values are acceptable

Several independent results may contain duplicates. That is correct for repeated draws with replacement. If every participant must appear only once, use a shuffled list or a wheel with winner exclusion instead.

  • Use a range that matches the actual item numbers.
  • Remember that both endpoints are eligible results.
  • Generate only the quantity needed for the current task.
  • Record a result before generating a replacement.

Good uses and important limits

The generator is suitable for everyday selections, games, samples, and development data. It is not a certified drawing system and does not create an external audit record, so regulated lotteries or high-stakes selections need a process designed for those requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can I generate more than one number?

Yes. Set the count to produce one or several integers from the chosen minimum and maximum.

Are both range limits included?

Yes. The minimum and maximum can both appear in the result.

How are the numbers generated?

The tool uses the browser Web Crypto API and performs the generation locally on your device.

Are results sent to a server?

No. The selected range and generated values stay in the browser while you use the tool.
